Recipe of the week: or should I say recipes of the week

We wanted to share these kid friendly recipes with you and a great way to involve your kids with lasting memories.

Parmesan Munch Mix:

8 cups popped popcorn
4 cups cheerios
3 cups pretzel sticks
1 package (6.6 oz.) miniature-cheddar cheese fish shaped crackers
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon onion salt

In an ungreased roasting pan, combine popcorn, cereal, pretzels and crackers. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over popcorn mixture and toss to coat.  Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 10-15 min. or until lightly browned. cool completely. Store in airtight containers.

Frozen Yogurt Pops:

2 cups plain low fat yogurt
2 cups frozen berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or cherries), thawed in the microwave for 1 minute
1/2 to 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar

Combine the yogurt, fruit, and sugar in a blender or food processor and process until smooth. Pour into Popsicle molds, stick a Popsicle stick in and freeze.

Each Popsicle only 100 calories!!

Before this next recipe we have a tip on how to make this cooking experience with your kids memorable and a learning experience:

Ask your kid(s) to tell you the step-by-step process for baking chocolate chip cookies. Write down everyhting they say and keep it for a hilarious keepsake. This fun exercise also teaches kids sequencing!
Share with us your kids step-by-step process for baking cookies at momssharingspot.com or comment on this page.

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal cookies:
(my family's favorite)

(The trick to this recipe is to bake the oatmeal at 300 for 10 min. previous to adding to the rest of the ingredients. Make sure to cool for at least 5 min.)

1 cup butter or margerine
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tspn. vanilla
2 1/2 cup oatmeal
2 cups flour
1/2 tspn. salt
1 tspn. baking powder
1 tspn. baking soda
1 pkg. chocolate chips (I use Hersheys they are the best for this recipe)

Cream first 3 ingredients together, add eggs and vanilla. In separate bowl, mix remaining ingredients. Bake at 375 for 6-8 minutes.
I ball up the dough with my hands then put it on the cookie sheet, it creates larger cookies.
